【作文】PP#3: Mentor Text

Subject   or   Topic:

Hurricanes   and   typhoons   are   generally   destructive   and   severe.   There   was   a   hurricane   that   caused   a   significant   number   of   deaths   and   big   damage   of   huge   area   of   land   in   the   United   States.   The   storm   was   finally   gone   after   torturing   this   place   for   so   long.

More   than   1,000   people   died   and   millions   of   profit,   such   as   stock   market   and   oil   facilities,   was   damaged.   Crisis   arose   not   only   during   but   also   after   the   destruction:   Stealing   and   robbing.   Buildings   were   mostly   destroyed.

People   had   no   place   to   go.   The   coastal   areas   were   devastated   and   beach   erosion   would   pollute   fishes   in   the   ocean.   At   the   beginning,   survivors   were   grieved   and   hopeless   because   their   home   and   their   relatives   were   gone   or   lost   somewhere.   They   thought   the   world   was   meaningless   and   dark.

They   thought   about   “my”   house   and   “my”   family,   and   they   thought   about   “me”.   Later,   they   discovered   how   many   other   people   were   in   the   exactly   same   condition   as   they   were.   They   reconstructed   the   area   together.   They   helped   each   other   out.   They   also   assured   another   friend   who   just   heard   the   death   news   of   their   love   ones.

Although   most   of   them   weren’t   able   to   go   back   to   their   original   lifestyles,   they   were   able   to   find   new   lives   in   the   future   with   people   who   also   went   through   the   same   experience.

Before   this   natural   disaster   occurred,   this   group   of   people   might   have   not   known   their   neighbors   names.   They   probably   would   not   have   a   chance   to   walk   into   each   other’s   life   and   learn   that,   one’s   power   could   never   be   as   strong   as   a   group’s   power.
